A career in photography requires an artistic eye and the ability to spot a winning photo. Many people dream of beginning a career in photography. Photography is an exciting career that can take a person throughout the entire globe. In fact, many photographers may a living traveling to different parts of the earth. They take photos of sunsets, mountains, animals, and so forth. These photos are generally sold to magazine publications for a generous fee.

Of course, there are many levels to a career in photography. Those with a passion for photography hope to one day have the opportunity to travel the globe. In the meantime, they settle on taking pictures of objects in their local region.

A career in photography that is equally rewarding is a freelance photographer. Similar to photographers who travel the globe freelance photographers take pictures of beautiful landscapes and scenic views. The only difference is that freelance photographers do not work on assignment or with a contract. They simply take the photos and market them to publications. Many renowned photographers began their career in photography working as a freelancer. As they build a name for themselves, major publications will begin to recognize their skill and hire them for assignments.

In addition, another career in photography is working for a local newspaper. This occupation is ideal for those new to the field of photography. Many newspapers offer on the job training, thus photographers are not required to produce masterpiece photos. Their goal is to shoot a clear picture to accompany a newspaper article. In most cases, a photographer will take several pictures for a single news piece. The newspaper editor will decide which photo best suits the piece. Although working as a news photographer is great for experience, the downside is that this particular occupation can become boring.
